Our new HTMV (High Temperature - Medium Voltage) range is a revolution in design and functionality, which will enable smarter and more economical solutions for our customers in different applications, such as heating cables and power cables for pipelines, pumps, and ROVs.

We use fluoropolymers to attain higher temperature and chemical resistance than traditional XLPE-based insulation systems. Even though our knowledge in the field of fluoropolymers probably is second to none, it still took five years of intense development to create this solution.

Some of the challenges included three layer bonding of the materials and splicing with zero tolerance for air bubbles. But benefits like higher operating temperature, higher power transfer and longer lifetime are worth all the hard work. Not only will this solution make new applications possible, it will also allow a reduction in conductor and cable dimension while reducing downtime and cost for replacement cables in harsh environments.

It has been very rewarding to see that our testing at the Norwegian test institute Sintef has validated these claims and we are ready to deploy.

– We look forward to changing the design over a whole array of applications with our new HTMV range. This is an extreme solution for extreme conditions, and right now we are eager to get started on implementation in some very exciting projects, says Kent Lundström, Director Offshore at Habia Cable.
