Habia strives to reduce the environmental impact of its operations. An important part of this effort is the introduction of environmental management systems at all manufacturing sites.
Today, all sites measure, manage and report energy, material and water consumption, emissions, and waste as part of our sustainability reporting framework.
Habia also plans to certify all manufacturing sites to the ISO 14001 environmental management standard. Currently, the sites in Sweden, Poland and China are certified and Germany is on the way. The standard supports a systematic way to be aware of and improve the Environmental Impact of planned activities and the Environmental Risks of unplanned events.
In recent years, Habia has made significant investments to reduce the emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC) resulting from its production processes. More energy-efficient manufacturing equipment, waste reduction, and the collection and recycling of polymers and metals has also been in focus.
