ATEX Cables & Wires

Habia Cable is now able to offer void free, anti static cable and wire suitable for ATEX applications.

We have launched a range of ATEX wire and cable products to meet the requirements of the EU safety legislation based on the European Directive 94/9/EC, known as ATEX.   The acronym stands for 'ATmosphere EXplosive' from the original French legislation.

Cables can only be approved as a part of an overall system and not seperately approved to the EN-ATEX directives as they are considered a passive component.   Habia Cable does manufacture with filled cables and anti-static additives in order to mimise the risk in explosive environments.

We can offer designs based on our range of thin wall primary insulations and flexible jacket materials.

Custom design requirements that can be accommodated include:-

    •    low friction, anti static cable jackets

    •    void free designs with silicone or thermoplastic filling material

    •    flame propagation characteristics according to IEC 60332-1-2
